Bus Route 525 from Donnybrook Station gives residents access to a variety of schools, shopping centres and local services on the way through to Craigieburn Station. Taking the car is easy too with the Hume Hwy 2.5kms away and the centre of Craigieburn only 11km away. The Western Ring Road is 22km.

Shopping

Craigieburn Central offers great shopping courtesy of Target, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Big W, Amart Sports and great stores like Bed Bath N’ Table and Cotton On.

Take the other direction and head towards Pacific Epping Shopping Centre and you’ll enjoy the choice of shopping at major supermarkets and specialty stores like Dan Murphy’s, Bevilles, EB Games, Flight Centre and Hairhouse Warehouse. Plus, there are great restaurants and cafes to enjoy when you take a break from all of that shopping.

Exploring the region

There’s something for everyone when you live at Donnybrae. The region surrounding Donnybrae contains many wonderful things to experience. See where the Ashes were born, sample great wines, have an adventure and experience some history.

The region surrounding Donnybrae has been producing wines since the 1860’s and its cool, dry climate combined with diverse soil types produces elegant wines. The historic local wineries make perfect locations for tasting the area’s celebrated shiraz such as the historic Craiglee winery. Or, you can travel a little further and find yourself in the Heathcote wine making region sampling world famous wines and delicious food.

 

Maybe you’re a cricket fan? Then go and visit the birthplace of the Ashes at Rupertswood. It was on the cricket field of Rupertswood that the Ashes were created. Over the Christmas of 1882, eight amateur members of the English touring side were house guests of the Clarkes. Sir William organised a social hit between the English and his guests, and with the English proving victorious, Janet Lady Clarke burnt a bail, the ashes of which she placed in a small urn and presented to the English Captain (Ivo Bligh).

Get in touch with nature, spend some time exploring the great outdoors at the Kinglake National Park where you can camp, picnic, bushwalk and take-in the extensive native fauna and flora on display.

For those in pursuit of an adrenalin fix then take the car to Funfields theme park at Whittlesea and sample the 22 rides and attractions on offer, it’s only 16km from Donnybrae.

Maybe you would like to take advantage of things closer to home? Take the family swimming at the Craigieburn Leisure Centre, or drop-in for a session at the fully equipped gym. How about a round of golf with friends at the Craigieburn Public Golf Course or at the beautiful Growling Frog Golf Course? There are so many more reasons why you should call Donnybrae home.
